Taking Midi to the Maximum

Not Mini, not Maxi but Midi is the new length of the season. All the way from the Midi ring to the Midi dress. Honestly, it took some to get used to this new length of dresses and skirts (and not feel 60years old), but once embraced I love to style this Midi trend.

Throw in another season's hottie by combining your midi dress with a tartan shirt  -which should be tied to your hips, obviously. Go for converses for a laid-back look or make your outfit complete with your favourite black ankle heels.

Leather Jacket - River Island, Ankle Boots - New Look, Sneakers - Converse All Star. All available on Asos

LFW13

London Fashion Weekend 2013.. it left us pretty speechless. A thirty minutes catwalk seemed to last two minutes, as the models walked by and inspired us with rich fur, satin fabrics and Kat Maconie heels. The trend catwalk styled by Pandora Lennard was a showcase of the best of British talent, with amongst the designers Giles Dacon, Julien Macdonald, Ashish, .. Inspired we were by the four key trends for the Autumn Winter season 2013.

“Every fashion capital has it own trends and the one’s I’ve chosen here are those I feel most apparent in London. They’re massively diverse, from 80’s candy colours to rich animal print and graphic 70s geometry.”- Pandora Lennard

Back to Nature was my absolute favourite out of the four trends.  Relive the catwalk show with me and tell me what is your favourite trend for the upcoming seasons.

the beautiful host Angela Scanlon

Pretty in Pink

Influenced by the 80's film Pretty in Pink, the AW catwalks feautured pink in all its hues as a big colour story. From Antipodium and John Rocha to PPQ, Roksanda Ilincic and Simone Rocha. Look out for this key look across a range of fabrics from sheer to textual. - LFW

Back to Nature

Designers including Erdem, Mary Katranzou, Michael van der Ham and Mulberry all went back to nature in their AW13 collections. Expect camouglafe, faux fur, feather prints, tree prints, autumnal colours, rich browns and mossy greens. - LFW

Shape up

Last season's big geometric look continues adding coulour and excitement to winter. Designers including Holly Fulton, House of Holland, Matthew Williamson and Temperley went retro featuring a range of psychedelic 70's wallpaper style prints. - LFW

Victoriana

Winter's penchant for the gothic fuses Victorian austerity with subtle femininity. Designers including Armani, Chanel and Preen showed predominantly monochrome collections with lots of delicate lace, high collars and capes all topped off with a glimpse of skin. - LFW

Chic in the city - AW13 favourites

If it comes to coats this season, bigger is definitely better. The Faux Fur Jacket will still be a hot trend this AW as seen at the London Fashion week in autumnal colours as camo green,  new navy and the classic black and white.

Add some brit-girl cool to your outfit with leather ankle boots. Think studs, buckles and gold metals for that extra edge.

Finally, top off your look with a bohemian or classic hat, because there’s just something special about a woman with a hat (Betmar Philosophy).

My favourite picks of the AW13 season through London neighbourhoods, from fast fashion chains to high brands.

Leather Ankle Boots - Kurt Geiger, Beige floppy head - Nordstorm, Leopard Faux fur jacket - Modemusthaves

Studded Ankle Boots - Burberry, Faux-fur midi vest - Zara, Hat - Marini Silvano

Python Boots - Chloe, Feather hat - Eugenia Kim, Shearling and textured-leather gilet - Saint Laurent

London Chick

It's been a few weeks since my last blog post but I do have a valid excuse, I moved to the fashion capital of the world: London. Overwhelmed by the London street style, I've finally settled in at the hearth of it all. And which is even more exciting: London Fashion Week has landed today in the city. Fashion is literally everywhere, from the vintage shops in Shoreditch, the Stables Market in Camden town, the chains at Oxford Street, to the high fashion boutiques in Chelsea.

Last night, we went to the Carnaby Style Night, in association with the Men's magazine GQ. Think discount- shopping, live bands, dj sets in-store and free drinks. What could we wish for more? Next item on the agenda is the London Fashion Weekend, wherefore you can buy your tickets here.

The Holy Grail of handbags

Britain's Glamour describes the bag as the Holy Grail of Handbags and yes, I trust them completely.

My eye spotted this bag several times yet, the classic - CĂ©line Paris -  shape, makes the bag super chic, the studs add the rock and roll. You can find the Michael Kors Selma bag in all kinds of colours.

Which one do you prefer? Bright colours as pink, purple and neons or the classic black, white and nude? Anyways, the black studded one is my favourite, can't wait to go on and treat myself!

Essentiel Antwerp Fall Winter 2013

Essentiel Antwerp, out of a lovestory grew a brand, a Belgian brand to be proud of. Their new Fall - Winter collection is about the only reason why I long for Autumn to arrive.  Think: long cosy vests, modern sweatpants and sneakers mixed with military and animal prints in dark colours and the occasional bright pink. What's not to love about these pieces - except their price maybe?

Urban? Check. Chic? Check.
